The Education Fund is a non-profit partnership between SEIU UHW-West and Healthcare Industry Employers; on a mission to accelerate the careers of over 100,000 SEIU eligible Healthcare Workers through innovative education and training solutions. Principal Purpose of Job:

  • Works with different internal departments on a shared caseload, with the objective ofassistinglearners who have completed training with job placement.
  • Will require close partnership with designated Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and workforce development contacts to provide updated and relevant information on job placement needs and opportunitieswith job placement.

Level of Authority: Works independently within the scope and direction of the Director of Employer and Labor Relations and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid Role: This position will require reporting to the physical L.A and or Oakland office when the time comes or is required.
  • Work is performed in a complex environment. It will require travel and the need to deal with diverse people and tasks.
  • Will attend and lead frequent meetings with learners, employers ( H.R. and Talen andAcquisition), union staff, and other Ed

Fund collaborators.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Incumbent must have the skills, abilities and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Establish and maintain job banks consisting of labor and management contact and job descriptions/specifications. Maintain and continually update job orders by category.
  • Develop and cultivate long-term relationships with labor and management to identify appropriate employment opportunities for Education Fund learners. Works directly with facility-based HR, Talent Acquisitions and labor teams dedicated to job placement.
  • Schedule and visit employers to identify potential positions for learnersand promote the Education Fund learners and career services.
  • Determine specific employment opportunities appropriate to learners and assist them in accessing them by guiding them through the hiring process.
  • Assist learners, employers, and other stakeholderswith post placement concerns and continuing employment needs.
  • Work closely with Career Advice and Business Development Departments.
  • Document learner progress, needs, and job search activity via case notes, tasks and alerts using Ed Fund systems and policies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of data to all relevant parties.
  • Provides recommendations on emerging trends that may lead to the development of trainingand career pathways for high-priority job classifications.
  • Provides reports and analysis of eligible learners who were not hired into open positions and makes recommendations to Ed Fund teams on skill or experience gaps to ensure learners meet job requirements.
  • Provides additional support to Lead CC for RIF/Job-to-Job learners to understand placement trends, employer connections, and hiring needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to drive and move from one site to another for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20lbs.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications and Capabilities:
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Must have valid California driver license,usea vehicle, and maintain an appropriate level of car insurance.
  • Familiarity with project management concepts.
  • At least twoyears experience in workforce development, career services, and job placement.
  • Knowledgeable of Labor Market Trends, preferably in a healthcare workforce development setting.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to create rapport with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize toachieve outcomes successfully.
  • Able to analyze data or trends and provide recommendations.
  • Salesforce or CRM system and Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred.
