Incumbents may service and make minor repairs to equipment. May also serve as a lead wor! ker or working supervisor.
Essential Duties
Serves as a lead worker or working supervisor;
Ability to work and assist other teams in the installation of sewer and water lines and mains, heat pipe, and other building utlitites;
Operates a skidsteer, backhoe, trackhoe, dump truck, and other large equipment;
Works to install/repair asphalt surfaces by hand or with mechanical paving equipment;
Works to install/repair exterior surfaces (including cinder tracks, erosion control, etc.);
Operates a heavy motor grader in the construction and repair of roads and surfaces;
Operates a variety of heavy snow removal equipment when needed;
Services and makes minor repairs to equipment;
Performs overtime work and other duties as required;
Attends work daily and performs on-task;
Self-auditing practices in safety awareness and procedures;
Performs other duties, as assigned;
This is an essential position which requires the employee to r! eport for work during inclement weather or at varying times fo! r emergencies. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years experience operating heavy equipment (both on-road and of-road). Valid Commercial Driver's license with a Class A endorsement by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Knowledge of the standard practices, methods and materials used in street or utility construction and/or maintenance. Good physical condition required, including the a bility to work at high altitudes. Supervisory experience preferred. Additional Information
Valid Commercial Driver's License with a Class A endorsement issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.
Minimum Salary Range - $29,572.82.
