The Infection Prevention Director is responsible for planning and directing the infection prevention program to ensure quality and safe delivery of health care related to infectious diseases. Oversees the development, implementation and coordination of inpatient, outpatient and, post acute care infection prevention and control programs. Works in collaboration with the program's Medical Director. Supervises Infection Preventionists and a departmental assistant. Is responsible for compliance with regulation requirments including healthcare associated infection data submission to NHSN and The Joint Commission Infection control standards and elements of performance. Oversees all training and consultation regarding infection prevention efforts, analysis of surveillance data, health department reportable disease regulations, interventions in the reduction of healthcare associated infections and, infection related quality and safety initiatives. Collaborates with Employee Health regarding healthcare worker infections and, infection related qualtiy and safety initiatives. Collaborates wth Employee Health regarding healthcare worker infections. Is an active member of the contruction and rennovation team.
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN prepared. Certification in Infection Control
Preferred:
Master's Degree preferred
