The Celebrity Recruitment Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of USO entertainment and program recruiting activities.
Responsibilities/Duties
Develop, implement and manage programs that attract, secure and engage high profile celebrity talent for diverse USO service communities, tours and events worldwide.
Participate in celebrity recruitment activities including but not limited to program development, planning and implementation; creating and managing customized celebrity recruitment tour platforms; coordinating, sourcing and fulfilling talent requests; preparing and providing follow-up on required talent recruitment documentation.
Receive and respond to inquiries related to celebrity recruitment. Create and maintain celebrity and talent agency profile database. Track progress on prospective talent requests and performance outcomes.
Assist the Vice President, Celebrity Recruitment in the preparation of program related briefings and electronic presentations including but not limited to strategic plans, work plans, meeting summaries, recruitment inquiries, internal offer letters, and talent confirmations.
Interface with key internal stakeholders, external partners, and audiences as it relates to celebrity engagement requirements and commitments.
Research and monitor celebrity publicity trends, events and social media postings. Monitor in-kind donations for sporting and entertainment events within proximity of military base installations.
Identify and manage opportunities for celebrity support of online development campaigns associated with USO celebrity tours and events.
Organize and maintain electronic and paper documentation. Produce and prepare reports, updates and event metrics. Assist with preparation of expense reports. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field.
5 years work experience, preferably in a program/project support role in the sports or entertainment industry. Relevant experience in a not-for-profit, multicultural, corporate and/or global organization preferred.
Must have working knowledge of music, TV, film, sports, pop culture. General awareness of complex cultural sensitivities of a variety of domestic and international locations.
Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively on a high-performing team.
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communications. Must have the ability to communicate to a diverse audience at a variety of levels using multiple channels with diplomacy, tact and poise.
Must have knowledge of various software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint and Outlook. Prior experience using social media and online communication tools in a business environment preferred.
Must have willingness and ability to work non-standard hours and/or overtime as needed.
Must be able to demonstrate initiative/self-motivation, attention to detail, organizational and time management skills. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
