We seek qualified mid-level Software Engineers to join our rapidly growing team headquartered in Arlington, VA.
This position is in support of veterans’ healthcare and the military. Successful candidate will be responsible for supporting large Government transformation and information technology (IT) programs in meeting their mission objectives and goals. As part of the Software Development team successful candidate(s) will be deeply involved in multiple applications and supporting data architecture. The Software Engineer will be a part of a team working to improve healthcare for Veterans, the military, and their families.
Additional tasks include but may not be limited to the following:
Working with product managers and other stakeholders to get clarification on business requirements and then implementing solutions including code development a! nd database design
Support operations by identifying,! researching and resolving performance and production issues
Work under general direction with the ability to act independently when determining methods and procedures on new or existing functionality
Assist in maintenance and new development on systems.
Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering system capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain required clearances
Ability to communicate with business and technical teams both orally and in writing
At least 3+ years of continuous application development with J2EE technologies.
Basic knowledge of SQL and understanding of Oracle databases.
1+ years of professional experience with 1 of the following bullets:
Database app! lication or ETL development
Development in a UNIX or Linux environment
Experience with OOD, UML modeling tools and the use of design patterns
Desired Experience
Experience with continuous integration environment including the use of tools such as ANT, SubVersion, JUnit
Experience with development of applications in Java/J2EE platform using core Java utilizing Hibernate and web frameworks like Spring-MVC
Experience with one or more scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python, PHP...Etc.)
Experience with development of AJAX based rich client using Javascript and JQuery
Experience with Healthcare Systems including areas such as HL7, EHR/ECR/EMR
