Position Summary
Performing special projects and in depth patient account analysis. Responsible for preparing claims following designated procedures established by each payer. Responsible for systematic follow up of insurance accounts to ensure correct financial status, correctly identifying and posting adjustments according to procedures.
Position Duties (Not all Inclusive)
- Verifies insurance eligibility and updates as needed
- Analyze all claim edits, making appropriate revisions and transmit
- Review assigned accounts to ensure proper payment
- Research and recommend appropriate adjustment
- Work correspondence and re-billing as required
- Contact insurance to find out status of unpaid or underpaid claims
- Documents communications accurately and completely
- Work independently in completing assigned tasks while staying in compliance with related state/federal guidelines rules and regulations and request assistance as needed
