The Infectious Diseases Society of America (www.idsociety.org), a medical association representing 10,000 Infectious Diseases physicians/scientists, seeks an exceptional candidate to serve as its Program Officer for Health Policy. The successful candidate will understand the nexus between public health and clinical care and work with prominent ID physician/public health experts to identify policy issues, develop position statements, and advance strategies within federal agencies (primarily the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), media, etc. Key focus areas: immunizations, antimicrobial resistance/HAIs, and emerging infections and biothreats preparedness.
The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree and possess at least 4 years solid experience as well as exceptional analytical and communication skills. Prior experience working in a physician association or in/with CDC will be helpful, although a wide range of experience will be considered.
