The Programs Manager, USO Warrior & Family Care is responsible for the successful execution of multiple USO programs and partnerships that serve the needs of America’s troops an! d their families.

Responsibilities/Duties

Manage full-cycle program/event management process for assigned projects, including but not limited to ensuring that goals are clearly established and documented, recruiting for program participants, defining success, tracking of program outcomes, coordinating
program/event promotion and publicity, on-site leadership and coordination as well as financial, and inventory tracking and reporting, procurement compliance and after-action reporting in a timely fashion.

As directed by USO Warrior and Family Care leadership, develop, improve and maintain working relationships with current and potential partners to generate support for assigned programs.

Serve as staff liaison between USO and key internal and external stakeholders involved in planning, coordination, implementation and management of assigned programs.

Measure and evaluate existing programs. Identify gaps and recommend new progra! ms and/or program elements to maintain and support growth of a! ssigned area.

Provide guidance and direction related to assigned programs/projects to Field Operations staff.

Track program and service costs.

Specific responsibilities for this position include:
Coordinate Warrior and Family Care initiatives related to Physical Health/Recreation, Behavioral Health Support/Family Strengthening.

Manage the coordination of partnerships and relationships including but not limited to the Comfort Crew For Military Kids, Rivers of Recovery, Warrior Games, Project Sanctuary, Warrior Care Packs and Duffels, US Army Warrior Transition Command, US Marine
Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment and other related programs.

Tracking of all inventory related to Warrior Care Packs and Comfort Crew for Military Kids programs.

Coordination with USO Procurement Manager to bid and select needed product as needed.

Monthly tracking of all related programmatic financials and programmatic delive! ry, to include program performance evaluation and metrics.

Execute logistics of stuffing parties and events as planned.

Continually evaluate success and effectiveness of the programs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field.

30% travel within the Continental United States

3-5 years work experience, including 2+ years as a Program/Project Manager or equivalent. Relevant experience in a non-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred

Ability to maintain clear, frequent communication with USO leadership and staff at a variety of levels and geographic locations.

Ability to perform basic accounting/business functions including budget reconciliation and program/project planning.

Demonstrated proficiency in various software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.

Demonstrated initiat! ive/self-motivation, attention to detail, organizational and time manag! ement skills.

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Must be a strong advocate of the USO’s mission to support active duty military and their families.

Specific requirements for this position include:
Sensitivity to the changing needs of wounded, ill and injured troops, their families and caregivers.

Ability to handle sensitive/stressful situations with empathy, tact and composure.

Strong attention to detail is required.
