Student Advising Trainer

Description: Northern Virginia Community College is looking of Student Advising Trainer right now, this position will be placed in Virginia. The purpose of this position is to contribute to the development of advising skills for both faculty and professional advisors at Northern Virginia Community College. This is done by coordi! nating the development, implementation and maintenance of advisor training sessions, through the maintenance and promotion of program information about developmental advising and teaching, and by coaching faculty advisors on effective advising practices and the use of technology. Essential Functions, Major Duties, and Accountabilities: * Analyze the needs for and coordinate an academic advisor (both faculty and professional advisors) training program and New Advisor Training. * Develop training content and deliver/facilitate online and in-person training and development sessions for academic advisors, both professional and faculty.
- Select and develop teaching aids such as manuals, handbooks, demonstration modes, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works. * Collaborate and maintain positive relationships with campus' departments. Provide support, counsel and communication facilitation for advisors and advising units between campuses. *! Conduct evaluation and assessment and provide timely reports ! and data.
