Role Description
The US Companion Animal Division ! is one of the largest businesses within Zoetis’ worldwide operations. We focus on maximizing the value of our broad veterinary solutions portfolio by building and sustaining relevant partnerships with veterinarians and pet owners. Based on our business model and operating environment we bring more than just medicines to the marketplace â€" we deploy a range of targeted activities to support our solutions offerings in meeting the needs of our customers. These activities include a direct sales field force, strategic account team that helps veterinarians better run and grow their business, aligned veterinary operations team providing technical support directly to customers, a dedicated Corporate Accounts team, and novel offerings that differentiate us from competitors.

We are seeking a highly capable individual for Manager Business Solutions, CAD. The location for this position is within our Sales South central Region. Significant travel of at least 50% and some wee! kend work / travel is a requirement of the position.

The Zoetis Business Solutions Manager (BSM) is responsible for the strategic and operational management of all relevant offerings related to adjacent and/or complementary business opportunities at Zoetis’ Companion Animal Health. In addition, the BSM will help us build strong business-to-business (B2B) relationships with Zoetis customers, reinforcing our “health of the practice and health of the patient” mission and aligning our outcomes with the success of this initiative. The BSM will lead the Companion Animal field force in the prioritization, creation, development, roll out, training, implementation, execution, tracking and sustainment of these key initiatives and will serve as regional and subject matter experts of these solution offerings. In this context, the BSM will provide specific expertise and independent perspective to successfully analyze the practice, propose and implement an improvement plan! , establish ongoing support needed, and monitor key performance indicat! ors (KPIs) to help improve practice performance related to any of these initiatives. The BSMs will have commercial sales and solution forecasting input responsibilities within their region. The intention is not that BSMs will be active in all hospitals in a territory, but in targeted and segmented customers best suited to this approach. The initial focus areas will be on Pet Wellness Report implementation, VERITAS, frank and ProfitSolver execution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field force support and direct sales responsibilities for adjacent/complementary opportunities, including but not limited to: Veterinary Business Solutions, Pet Wellness Reports, VetStreet subscription sales and renewals, Profit Solver and Veritas e-learning platform
  • Initial Focus: Pet Wellness Report implementation, VERITAS, frank and ProfitSolver execution Work with Therapeutic Specialists, Strategic Account Managers, Specialty Hospital Liaisons, Acade! mic Liaisons, Area Business Managers and Regional Business Directors to assess successes and opportunities regarding awareness, implementation execution and sustained effectiveness of initiatives
  • Coordinate / communicate with other regional and other species BSMs to learn best practices and ensure effective partnering
  • Leverage outside subject matter experts (SME) when needed to deliver comprehensive solutions to veterinary practices that are beyond the scope of the BSM
  • Align customer-facing colleagues around a shared “solutions” strategy
  • Ensure successful planning / sequencing of any pilots and / or new introductions within the field-sales team
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of all meetings that have field-force complementary solution involvement
  • Partner with L & D to outline field-sales training needs and ensure deliverables meet those needs
  • Monitor performance, key initiative execution! , and associated field activity reports to identify successful performa! nce and opportunities for improvement â€" developing proposed solutions and action plans as needed that positively impact results; including creating summary reports and recommendations to be shared with CAD leadership and others as needed
  • Provide strategic input for Director Sales/Operations & Director Veterinary Business Solutions to evaluate potential “Complementary, Service, Solution” initiatives.

  • University degree (minimum Bachelor’s degree)
  • Minimum 5 years relevant animal health, sales or consulting experience
  • Demonstrates effective personal, communication and negotiation skills to solve problems, gain agreement with and inform others, while targeting short, medium and long term objectives
  • Strong presentation skills, using all relevant tools
  • Strong relationship building, team building, and organ! izational skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use facts and data analysis to identify good options and make good business decisions

PREFERRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7 plus years of animal health experience to include Strategic Account Management and / or Management experience / or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
  • Advanced business management training / MBA or equivalent
