Kforce is seeking a Systems Engineer for a Falls Church, Virginia (VA) client. As a Lead Engineer for DHIMS Joint Medical Workstation (JMeWS) Continuity of Operations (COOP), Maritime Medical Modules (MMM), and Defense ! Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System (DOEHRS) projects, provide evaluation and surveillance of Defense contractor policies and practices relative to the analysis, design, development, test and support of complex integrated suite of software solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review system / functional requirements, track deliverables, and perform software research and analysis to recommend technical solutions and provide guidelines for implementing solutions throughout the DHIMS Product Lifecycle
- Ensure System Engineering principles are followed throughout the development life cycle; participate in integrating and supporting the development and adaption of interoperable and secure technical solutions
- Operate as the client's technical expert
- Provide technical planning, analysis and oversight for all system development and integration efforts during all phases of the software development ! life-cycle
- Perform computer systems analysis and make! s recommendations concerning contractor technical capabilities on value engineering change proposals and guidelines
- Provide the technical insight required to support knowledge-based decision making throughout the acquisition process
- Coordinate with Developers, Program Managers, and other DHIMS Engineers to identify systematic issues for resolution
- Mitigate risks above the program level
- Develop appropriate systems documentation in support of functional performance and interoperability within Theater Medical Information Program-Joint Systems
- Support and advocate for DoD Component initiatives and ensure compliance with technical and engineering standards of DHIMS, MHS, and DoD
