Overseeing the entire operations of the Pizza department including ordering with Simplification practices in mind, hiring & staffing, training & development, scheduling, managing payroll, analyzing financial numbers and other elements of contribution (profit) and controlling shrink (waste)
Leading employees by example to provide incredible customer service by proactively acknowledging all customers at the counter, filling orders and answering any questions! they have about products or programs offered
Ensurin! g all tasks are completed in the department including making and rolling out dough; preparing pizza toppings, pizzas, calzones, Incrediburgers and items for the wing bar; taking and preparing customer orders; and preparing, packaging and rotating products in the cold case
Delegating tasks to team members and empowering them to take on new challenges, being certain to provide timely feedback and annual performance reviews that focus on their growth and professional development
Following Wegmans core recipes while preparing pizzas and other items in the Pizza department to ensure a consistent outcome, overseeing team members and correcting any errors
Teaching employees to correctly cook pizzas and other items in a pizza oven, keeping a close eye on products during the cooking process, while balancing other tasks, to ensure they are prepared to Wegmans standards of quality
Forecasting department and customer needs and accurately planning dai! ly production lists and menus
Maintaining the overall appearance of the department to ensure product levels are sustained throughout the day and cases are properly signed and well-merchandised to showcase quality and increase sales
Maintaining open lines of communication with team members, Executive/ Store Chef, Prepared Foods Manager and/ or other Prepared Foods departments to ensure the most efficient operations
Educating and ensuring team members are properly handling products, using equipment and keeping accurate logs in accordance with food safety and safety guidelines, understanding the highly perishable nature of the product
Qualifications
