Volunteers of America Chesapeake accomplishes its spiritually based mission by serving over 10,000 people annually through programs that spread geographically from Baltimore, Maryland to Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Current Openings: There are 3 Relief/on-call position - hours vary.

This position is located at: Arlington, VA.

The House Monitor I is responsible for monitoring the activities of residents of the Shelter and for ensuring compliance with program rules and conditions. The House Monitor I also provides direct support to residents as needed and provides translations for program staff and Spanish-speaking residents.

The successful applicant will have a High School Diploma or GED plus must have two years community-based social services! experience. If you have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services! or a related field , you will only need 1 year of experience with community-based social services.

Requirements include the ability to interact and communicate effectively with others, be able to complete assessments of behavior, skills and needs; prepare written reports; monitor and direct program activities; and ensure the safety and security of program operations.

The successful applicant is recovering from alcohol and/or substance abuse, he/she must have three (3) years of sobriety.

Driving and/or transporting clients is a responsibility of the position.

Must pass all pre-employment screening/tests.
