Our Client, one of the Washington Metro area's leading providers of innovative business and technology solutions for the government sector as well as private industry, has excellent opportunities for professionals with significant experience in the science of radiation detection.
Responsibilities
o Provide general knowledge and subject matter expertise in radiation detection and related technical areas
o Analyze current capabilities versus future requirements to determine gaps and make recommendations to close the gaps
o Support government acquisition activities, including statement of work development and project management
o Assist in monitoring contractor performance by providing oversight of research cost and progress
Additionally Scientist I will: o Provide program management support and interagency coord! ination of research and development initiatives and the strategic planning for development of radiological detectors
o Coordinate with the intelligence community for the identification of detection requirements
Additionally Scientist II will:
o Provide technical support in the areas of applied-research level active and passive detection of radioactive material in specific and general applications
o Support development of program plans for new technology areas including Advanced Concept Technology Demonstrations (ACTDs) and Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs)
Job Requirements
o Top Secret or equivalent security clearance
o Proven ability to translate analyses into clearly described written products (briefings, reports, White Papers)
o Must be computer literate and be skilled in standard office automation programs such as Microsoft Project
o DoD acquisition, Federal Agencies, or National Laboratories experience is hig! hly desired
o Travel is required
Scientist I:
o Advanced degree in Science or Engineering
o Minimum of 12 years relevant experience (9 years with a PhD)
o Recent experience (within 3 years) in the application and use of radiation detectors supporting incident response nuclear detection concepts and requirements with Federal Agencies and laboratories is highly desired
Scientist II:
o Advanced technical degree in Nuclear Physics or Nuclear Engineering
o Minimum of 7 years relevant experience. May be offset if candidate possesses a PhD
o Experience in Research and Development Program Management and Radiation Detection
