Delivers patient focused quality care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse based upon the nursing process. Is effectively involved wi! th maintaining the standard of care for assigned patients through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to defined standards within scope of practical nursing. Is responsible for assuring that appropriate care is given in a timely manner to all assigned patients. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary staff and other patient care providers to maintain standards of professional nursing practice.
Maintains nursing competencies and skill levels to ensure provision of safe, quality patient care. Delivers care specific to the age, growth and level of development of patients including adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Oversees and guides employees that are under his/her supervision. Provides patient/family education.
Graduate of accredited School of Practical Nursing. New grads may be accepted. No prior experience necessary. Must complete training for CAPD and chest tube care prior to completion of orientation.
Curre! nt LPN License to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virg! inia. Current BLS certification required.
