As stewards of our customer’s healthcare dollar, Anthem’s goal is to drive improvements in the system that changes this picture through arrangements with our providers that:

  • Rationalize the connection between price, cost and value with a focus on quality and the total cost of care
  • Move away from the current, unsustainable, model that rewards volume over value.
  • Create the right incentives to foster â€" and enable â€" hospitals, health system, physicians and other providers make the right decisions based on community need and evidence based standards of quality and appropriate care.
Anthem is committed to migrating from volume to value based provider payment arrangements. This commitment is evidenced by our large and successful portfolio of patient centered care programs,! including Patient Centered Primary Care (PC2) and Accountable! Care Organizations (ACO). These programs offer a singular, consistent and scalable framework designed to drive the migration from volume-based, episodic and fragmented care to value-based, patient-centered. This position plays a critical role in supporting Information Delivery, one of the key foundational pillars to all Patient Centered Care programs.

The advanced and senior level Business Analyst (II and III) are responsible for serving as the liaison between the Payment Innovation Information Delivery team and IT in translating complex business information needs into application software. Prefer the person located in Alexandria, VA or NYC, NY, but will consider any location.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyzes complex end user (external providers and internal stakeholders) information needs to determine optimal means of meeting those needs.
  • Determines specific business application software requiremen! ts to address complex business needs.
  • Develops project plans and identifies and coordinates resources, involving those outside the unit.
  • Works with programming staff to ensure requirements will be incorporated into system design and testing.
  • Maintains report documentation, messaging to Executives of metric results, distribution lists and communicates methods used to collect data.
  • Performs report training for internal customers.
  • May provide direction and guidance to team members and serves as an expert for the team.
  • Develops written narratives (profiles, user types, user stories), table charts and graphs to display data.
  • Incumbent should also have an understanding of metrics and math calculations and presentation and analytical skills
