SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the five year growth plan for OEM Force products. He or she wil! l manage the OEM Force engineering team (based in China), collaborate with engineering groups (based in France) and deliver cost effective designs to customer or internal specifications within company guidelines through the efficient use of resources. The ability to interface with customers in order to define requirements (scope of work, specifications, development, qualification, quality, etc…), and evaluating business opportunities will be important attributes for this position.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a recently created Product group within a dynamic and growing sensor company. The position is particularly suited to someone with OEM load cell design experience seeking to progress to a broader management role and assume significant responsibility.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Initiate and lead new product development according to our NPI (New Product Introduction) process and support those until production release.
- Manage engi! neering resources to ensure engineering projects are completed! on-time and to budget.
- Contribute to (and be responsible for delivering on) the OEM Force product/technology roadmap.
- Oversee design, design analyses, and development through production of OEM Force Transducers and load cells within the Force product line.
- Prepare estimates of time and costs for both engineering design and development and for manufacture
- Oversee the development of complete engineering documentation.
- Oversee the preparation of procedures and plans to test and evaluate products for design verification or product improvement, including cost-down initiatives.
- Maintain liaison with, and provide technical direction to, other departments during all phases of the product design, development and manufacture.
- High level of technical knowledge (stress and strain analysis, materials, electronics…).
- Strong leader, capable of working effectively in diverse cultural enviro! nments.
- Strong business acumen.

- Good written and oral communications skills.
- FEA / DFM / DOE/ DTC.
- Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with solid modeling programs such as Inventor, Solidworks, Pro-E (Solidworks preferred).
- FMEA modeling experience.
- Project management software (MS Project preferred).
- Educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering or Physics discipline.
- Direct experience in a volume production environment, product design and development of electromechanical products (such as, but not restricted to, load cells) is preferred.
- Experience of project/program management in industries like Automotive or Medical (or industries which use similar quality systems and product/process qualification processes) is strongly desired. Ability to travel internationally.
