SAIC has a career opportunity for a Test Engineer. This position w! ill be located in Alexandria, VA.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Conduct automated and performance testing for multi-tiered distributed web applications. Requires a strong background in performance testing and in web development. Knowledge of multiple application infrastructures and strong communication skills are required for this position.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop test strategies using project artifacts and interviews of architects and development leads
- Create functional test scripts using automated tools such as Selenium
- Create or modify performance scripts for Web based applications using LoadRunner
- Execute functional test to ensure that a quality product is delivered
- Execute performance tests on applications to assure capacity and stability of the applications meets requirements for production deployment.
- Measure resource consumption of components and processes and latency at measurable points in ! the systems under test
- Identify application bottlenec! ks and assist engineers with improving application performance
- Communicate functional and performance testing results and identify areas for improvement
- Provide interim reports as well as a final report that summarize results
- Understanding of various front end application architectures and the tier to tier communication
- Measurement points of various systems and metrics for analysis of issues and risk.
- Programming skills in J2EE programming
- Excellent analytical skills and extensive troubleshooting experience
- Extensive experience using HP LoadRunner
- Experience with an automated test tool such as Selenium
Qualifications:
TYPICA! L EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 8+ years experience. Exposure to computer-based applications similar to those required for this position: advanced set-up and configuration, troubleshooting, system design. Proficiency in computer applications, languages, technologies and/or capabilities required for this position. An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
