The Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Operations Group in
Lynchburg, VA is hiring a Pickle Clean Operator. The
position involves process cleaning, solvent cleaning,
copper processing, flushing and pickling/acid cleaning.
The position prepares runs and maintains equipment
solutions for all manual and semi-automated component
cleaning activities. They may perform CO2 cleaning,
flushing and other cleaning activities as directed. This
position is responsible for maintaining equipment and
solutions as needed.
Job Requirements:
Respirator qualification, crane, fork truck/lift and
micrometer reading qualification will be required to be
obtained in the job. Satisfactory completion of a vision
test wi! ll also be required. This position requires the
ability to! read and follow detailed written procedures
and the ability to use standard measuring equipment such
as micrometers, calipers, temperature and pressure gages
and various other measuring equipment.
The successful candidate must be able to work with
various solvents and acids as well as work with large
volumes of acids, detergents and hot water. Performance
of occasional heavy manual lifts between 20 and 60 lbs
are also required.
Significant overtime can be expected.
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal
background investigation and must meet eligibility
requirements for access to classified information or
matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship with (no dual
citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department
of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an
extensive criminal and financial background
investigation and previous employment reference
verifications.
