Opower seeks a lead for the building and scaling of Agile Program Management capabilities within our Engineering organization. This person will be part of the Knowledge, Planning and continuous Improvement (KPI) group and work in close collaboration with a diverse set of internal stakeholders. Our ideal candidate is an strategic Agilist with a talent and passion for building organizational capabilities in a complex, hyper-growth business environment. About The Job:
Build and sca! le a team of Program Managers
Formulate a strategy fo! r implementing lightweight program management governance practices that reinforce an Agile environment where teams are empowered to own their work
Define metrics and implement tools to monitor our overall “program health†across the entire program portfolio
Define and scale project management services to the program and portfolio levels
Build and facilitate/lead trainings and workshop to further disseminate project management knowledge across the entire organization
Become a program management champion: a subject matter expert for any topic that falls under this broad umbrella
About You:
You have BA/BS in a technical discipline with 7-9 years of experience in technical project management roles
You are a Lean/Agile chef: you have worked in a well functioning Lean/Agile environment and can show a track record of adapting cookbook recipes to a messier reality
You have managed small team! s of talented individuals and can provide the coaching and guidance needed to enable them to be successful in their roles
You are self-motivated and self-managed: able to think independently, get feedback, move ahead, while still keeping everyone in the loop
You know that SAFe is not just a metal box in the bank, and can have a deep conversation about the challenges of rolling it out in a mid-size org
Your communication skills are outstanding. You can skillfully synthesize and summarize content presenting plans to anyone at any level, and take feedback eagerly and with grace
You know how to create visually appealing, compelling documents
