Shift: 7am - 3:30 shift
Location: Culpeper, VA - Data Center Operation.
The Technician is responsible for maintaining the datacenter services and infrastructure.
Required ! Qualifications:
Responsibility:
- Perform routine Data Center monitoring
- Manage storage system tiers
- Perform onsite Level 2 “Break/Fix†support for Enterprise storage resources
- Respond to and resolve Enterprise Level 2 incidents and outages
- Provide assistance to inquiries on the features, functions, and usage of Area-specific services and systems
- Support on-call rotation for after hour support
- Provide Knowledge Base updates and create SOPs and other technical documentation
- Participate in after-hours Data Center maintenance
- Identify and implement improvements to operational capabilities
- Provide client-facing support/representation/escalation
- Rack and cable Data Center equipment
- Resolve high level technical issues relative to the proper configuration and operation of systems and equipment.
- Level of Security Clearance â€" Top Secret [minimum! ] or higher
Preferred Skills & C! ertifications:
Desired Experience:
- Install, configure, update, and administer VMware ESX 4.x and 5.x virtualized servers
- Configure and manage ESXi, VSphere, VCenter, and VMotion for customer systems
- Support, resolve, escalate issues of domestic physical and VM systems within an OpenNet, ClassNet, DMZ, and SIPRNet environment.
- Ability to terminate and install CAT6 and fiber optic cabling within a Data Center environment
- Experience with Tivoli backup and restoration procedures
- Experience with system monitoring (e.g.,NetIQ AppManager Suite, SolarWinds)
- Ability to perform under stressful situations.
- Understanding of cabling and physical infrastructure of a Data Center environment
- Experience/knowledge of Data Center Operations best practices
- Ability to install a variety of Data Center equipment, i.e. servers, storage arrays, network equipment etc.
- Ability to perf! orm systems checks, maintains logs, generate reports, and produce documentation
- Excellent logical system troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Very strong verbal and written communications skills
- Good knowledge of PC and Server Hardware
- Hardworking and copes well under high pressure
- Self-driven with the ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups
- Ability to follow defined operational standards, understand data center critical infrastructure, and understand server operating systems
