Principal Scientist

(ARA) is seeking one or more experienced Principal Scientists or Principal Engineers with the vision, creativity, and drive to grow and lead a small group in the candidate’s area of applied research. Candidates for this position should have a proven track record in technology innovation in one or more of the following area! s: chemical-biological defense, smart sensors, acoustics, robotics, nondestructive evaluation, blast waves and effects, explosives detection and defense, homemade explosives characterization, computer science, software development, modeling (analytical, computational, finite-element), signal processing, embedded processing.
This position will be based out of ARA Office in Arlington, Virginia which facilities are located within walking distance of the Washington D.C. Metro and include extensive office and meeting space within a short distance to many government agencies and industry partners. Up to 25% travel will be required in support or project work and business development.
