PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Valet/Bell Attendant is responsible for providing a positive first and last impression to guests as they arrive and leave the hotel. Will be transporting vehicles in the hotel continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service. When servicing guests, the Valet/Bell Attendant is responsible for being professional, friendly, and helpful. The position also involves assisting guests with their luggage and packages upon arrival and departure and for arranging transportation when necessary.

Greet and escort guests, answer questions, and quickly respond to all requests in a well-spoken, thoughtful, friendly and helpful manner; thank guests for staying with us at every opportunity.
Provide a positive first and last impression for each and every guest or visitor to the Hotel.
Have a helpful attitude and a smile, easing the transition of guests’ baggage or boxes from or to vehicles or storage to or from guest rooms or meeting rooms. Escort guests and baggage to rooms.
Careful handling of baggage and secure storage of guests’ personal belongings with proper claim check identification.
Greet VIP guests and assist in special check-in and checkout services for them with Front Office, Sales.
Communicate guest’s requests for their stay in a timely and accurate manner to appropriate team members.
Arranges for prompt parking and retrieving of vehicles of arriving and departing guests in a safe and friendly manner.
Opens vehicle doors, assists guests in stepping out of their vehicles, and helps guests with luggage.
Collaborates with other Valet Attendants to ensure all guests are welcomed and greeted in a prompt and personalized manner.
Observes assigned areas for any safety hazards or unauthorized tampering with or pilferage to parked vehicles and reports immediately any incidents or conditions to management.
Control traffic flow at hotel entrance, outside driveway, and monitoring flow in lobby to prevent the doors from being blocked, lines of people in the driveway, to prevent unsafe conditions.
Summon taxis upon guest’s request.
Answer inquiries regarding hotel and other services guests may require, such as, fitness center, entertainment, shopping, and transportation to and from the hotel.
Assist and or secure transportation for guests, such as limo, valet or taxi service.
Staying current with hotel and restaurant promotions, menus, and events.
Smile & Converse Politely with Guests Addressing Them By Name
Engage in small talk, questions about stay, and checking for satisfaction.
Follow all safety, security, loss prevention, and emergency procedures in hotel.
Alert management of any suspicious activities or people at the hotel’s entrance area, lobby or near any doors.
Contributes To Guest Services And Hotel Success Through Teamwork
Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area.
Other duties may be assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and/or Experience-
- Prior experience.
- Experience Ability to operate all types of passenger vehicles (standard and automatic). Licenses or Certificates Valid state driver’s license required. Clean driving record check
Language Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate ideas and concepts in English.
- Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
Physical Ability
- Carrying or lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Requires grasping, writing, sitting, repetitive motions, bending, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Finger, wrist and arm dexterity for repeated use of paperwork, computer keyboard, stapler, and telephones.
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, hoisting, leveraging onto carts or crawling into vehicles to move luggage sometimes necessary.
- Standing or walking during entire 8-hour or longer shifts.

- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Customer service oriented, ability to multi-task
- Primarily perform duties outdoors under portico and indoors in all pubic areas and guestrooms of Hotel.
