The Director of USO Warrior and Family Care will be responsible for leading the âconnecting activitiesâ and the programs and partnerships within that arena specifically those that fall into the education, employment and community reintegration domains. Responsibilities/Duties
Understand and describe the DoD, Department of Labor, and VA programs that support wounded ill and injured troops, their families, and caregiversâ"specifically those that relate to education and employment.
Stay up to date on current and new trends in the education, employment and community reintegration spaces to help in developing new programs and partnerships.
Oversee existing and develop new processes and financial controls.
Budget development and oversight.
Manage partnership with outside research team to continuously gauge the perceived value and effectiveness of current USO Warrior and Family Care programming.
Devise create, modify, adapt and implement new programs and partnerships that support wounded, ill and injured troops, their families and caregivers.
Manage all education, employment and community reintegration programs and services with the support of the VP, Programs - Wounded Warriors and other members of the programs team for wounded warriors initiatives.
Manage, monitor and report on all existing and pilot programs assigned.
Implement processes to measure, validate, and continually and critically review program and service effectiveness and efficiency to achieve continuous improvement.
Track program and service costs that will demonstrate the exercise of good stewardship of USO resources and value for donor money.
Work actively with internal and external partners to strengthen relationships and develop additional partnerships when appropriate.
Manage program delivery for assigned programs.
Provide program updates for Board of Governors, and website, as required. Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree or at least 6-8 years equivalent of administrative experience; major in management, business administration, accounting or other relevant disciplines. (Military experience may apply) Masters degree preferred, but not required.
Must have 5 years experience as Project Manager or equivalent experience
Must have at least 5 years of direct management experience
Must have 5 years experience working with project financials
Must have knowledge of military, particularly its structures and organizations, specifically as they relate to the transition from the military to civilian sectors.
Must be able to travel as required, particularly throughout the United States and possibly through Germany.
Must have experience with employment and education programs a plus as they relate to transitioning service members, military spouses and veterans.
Must be fully proficient with Windows XP or Vista and Microsoft Office 2003 or 2008; Familiarity of Excel to create financial documents and tracking processes will apply.

This position is located in Arlington, VA. Preference will be given to local candidates within commuting distance to the location.
