Professional Performance currently has full-time position(s) available for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist(s) t! o provide Evening and Night services at the Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth (NMCP), VA . You will be caring for our nation's heroes and their families in a cutting edge medical environment.
Work Location : Radiology Department at The Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA.
Hours of Operation : Services will normally be performed on a rotating basis for all shifts (Day/Night/Weekend/Holiday) as indicated. The Portsmouth Naval Medical Center Radiology Department provides services 24 hours a day, 365 days per year including holidays. The standard shift schedule is an 8.5 hour shift from 0630 - 1500 Sun - Sat (Day), 1430 - 2300 Sun - Sat (Evening) 2330 - 0700 Sun - Sat (Night), inclusive of a 30 minute uncompensated meal break. during rotating hours. On-Call services required
The Ideal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist(s) will :
Perform a full range of MRI scans of the head, body and extremities as well as complex exams wh! ich include dedicated phasic organ studies, brain MRA/MRV (Mag! netic Resonance Angiography/Magnetic Resonance Venography), body and extremity MRA/MRV, perfusion, breast, multiplanar and 3D volume renderings, and cardiac. Verify and identify patients and procedure information in accordance with command policy. Evaluate patients for contrast compatibility: GFR (Globular Filtration Rate), allergy history, contrast contraindications. Review MRI safety screening and information to assess patient safety. Screen prospective patients using installed ferromagnetic detector systems. Explain to the patient the procedure to be performed and answer relevant questions. Provide for the physical and emotional comfort to of the patient.

The Ideal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist(s) will ! :
Possess a current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) certification. Possess work experience as a full time MRI technologist of at least 12 continuous months within the preceding 24 months, to include experience with digital imaging and electronic Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Provide two letters of recommendation from practicing physicians or hospital administrators. The letters shall attest to your clinical skills, productivity, knowledge base and rapport with co-workers and supervisors, and shall include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of individual providing reference. Letters shall have been written within the last 2 years. A minimum of one letter shall be from a supervisor.
