Maintenance Specialist

Location: Christiansburg Virginia

Further informations about this vacancy opportunity please read the description below. Calling all Backyard Mechanics! Have you been tinkering with toys and gear your whole life? Do you consider yourself mechanically inclined? Do you take proactive measures in order to avoid! writing unnecessary checks to mechanics, plumbers, HVAC Technicians, and appliance repair men/women? If so, we have an awesome opportunity for you at Backcountry.com in our world class distribution center in West Valley City, UT. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of being a “fix all” kind of guy or gal, someone with mad preventative maintenance skills who pays attention to every last detail.

Primary Responsibilities:
Perform monthly, quarterly, or as needed PMI (Preventative Maintenance Inspections) on all mechanical equipment, including, but not limited to: conveyor system, cardboard baler, and industrial air compressors

Diagnose and fix problems with the conveyor system, cardboard baler and industrial air compressors

Perform general maintenance and repair of building, facilities, equipment, and grounds

Work directly with Safety Manager to facilitate safety and security initiatives

Implement and! track maintenance schedules and issues

Respond to em! ergency maintenance requests as required

Build, organize and maintain spare parts inventory

Obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts, repairs, and order as needed

Operate a fork lift

Operate a pallet jack

Operate cardboard baler

Keep tools and workspace clean and organized

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalency

Minimum of 1 year maintenance and/or mechanical experience

Verbal and written comprehension of the English language

Basic math and computer skills including Microsoft Office

Basic knowledge of the following trades: conveyor mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, grounds keeping, appliance repair, and electrical wiring

Must be familiar with the standard safety practices and tools used in the general maintenance and repair of building facilities

Willingness to work outside in inclement weather (only when neces! sary)

Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License
