Department Overview
Electric Asset Management is responsible for the electric system engineering and planning, asset strategy, and risk management across transmission, distribution, and substation asset families. This centralized, risk-informed approach allows PG&E to manage electric risk, asset and system health, interconnections, and performance by using consistent standards, work methods, prioritization, and program sponsorship, while leveraging lessons learned from inspections and asset data to inform asset management decisions. Accountable for asset planning and strategy, standards and work methods, and asset data management for Electric.
Integrated Grid Planning is a data-driven approach to planning that seeks to develop stable, multi-year investment plans that solve for multiple needs to achieve our strategic objectives for the electric Transmission and Distribution systems. Integrated Grid Planning bundles work that addresses multiple system needs, creating efficiencies that reduce the cost of delivering safe, clean, and affordable energy to our customers.
Position Summary
The Operations Data Analyst, Expert supports the Integrated Grid Planning process and development of multi-year investment plans for the electric Transmission and Distribution systems in coordination with asset management programs by helping create multi-year strategies based on electric system and asset data.
Extracts data for analysis, leadership support and responses to ad hoc data requests.
Maintains tools & databases to ensure that it is kept up to date.
Develops, maintains, and enhances operational metric database tools for the broader analytics teams.
Identifies and solves current gaps in data requirements and ease of access to ensure fast and consistent responses.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although, we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Annual Minimum: $118 ,000.00
Annual Maximum: $188,000.00
Job Responsibilities
Analyzes data using various advanced statistical tools to develop complex ad hoc reports, statistics, trends and profiles.
Demonstrates and uses broad expertise in data processing and data analysis and applies this knowledge to a number of different issues.
Designs data analysis to achieve business objectives, process data, analyze data, write clear and concise data findings and tailor communications to specific audiences.
Creates automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.
Develops comprehensive reports and communicates clear, concise and actionable data analyses for clients.
Manages complex data analysis projects with limited supervision on only the most complex projects from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on-time.
Manages very complex data extracts and list pulls ensuring data accuracy. Manages extracting data and transferring the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts
Provides new and innovative solutions and recommendations to enhance database(s) with new data sources and improved data processes.
Works with Directors and Managers across functions to influence decisions.
Presents findings and makes recommendations to high level leaders.
Qualifications
Minimum:
BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience
Six (6) years of related work experience
Desired:
Advanced skill in writing SQL queries using Microsoft SQL Server
Familiarity with Foundry/Power BI/Tableau Desktop Applications
