Technology Risk
The Technology Risk ("TR") service area is comprised of professionals with a broad range of information technology and management consulting skills in the areas of Risk and Compliance, Security and Privacy, and Capital Markets. These professionals perform assessments, remediation, implementation and integration of end-to-end solutions in these three areas. They also deliver advisory services focused on risk and compliance to IT management and senior executives for both external audit and internal audit clients. TR professionals focus on information systems and technology that manage risk and/or drive operational, financial and regulatory compliance processes; as well as solutions that manage the risk associated with information technology itself.
The Assessor shall provide support services related to independently evaluating security controls implemented within the HHS CMS information systems. Project requires an e! xperienced cyber security technical assessor in one or more of! the following areas: Network, Windows, Unix, Databases, and Applications. Assessments will be in accordance with NIST 800-53 security controls and Agency-specific requirements. Applicants are not expected to be experts in all fields but candidates with more than one area of expertise are preferred. Typical FISMA testing includes network component compliance testing, server configuration compliance testing (DISA STIGS), vulnerability scanning and analysis, application testing, interviews, documentation reviews and the reporting of noncompliance. It is expected that the onsite security assessments will be conducted in various US locations and residual reporting will be conducted virtually. Typical assessments involve a week of planning, a week of onsite testing and a week of follow up activities.
