Job Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator helps organize, coordinate and carry out human resource department projects and processes for an organization. The Coordinator works directly with and assists the Human Resources Director to fulfill a variety of necessary HR tasks. This will likely include hiring, firing, training and company education procedures for new or existing employees. The Coordinator must track and maintain employee and subcontractor data using Excel spreadsheets and HRIS (human resource information system) software; therefore, strong computer and clerical skills are a must.

The Coordinator also helps maintain positive employee relations and works to ensure team member satisfaction through education of HR policies and by fostering a positive work environment. Our ideal candidate should be highly organized, detail oriented and most importantly personable and approachable.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with and report to the Human Resources Director regarding all HR endeavors
  • Support HR director in educating employees on and enforcing company policies
  • Assist with p lanning and execution of company-wide events
  • Attend HR events and seminars, when needed
  • Assist in the hiring process of employees: includes recruitment, interviews, verifying work-history and references and tracking of new possible candidates in HRIS
  • Help with new-hire orientation
  • Organize, maintain and update employee HRIS information as needed
  • Assist with Job Fairs and internship program planning and execution
  • Acquisition/processing of trades, subcontractors and vendors. Maintain and update Subcontractor Tracking spreadsheet
  • Foster positive employee relations and work to solve any employee issues that surface or are brought to your attention
  • Make sure all employee records are filed correctly and kept confidential
  • Abide by company enforced HR processes and current employment laws and regulations
  • Under the lead of the HR Director, be a vital source of human resources information answering any que stions employees may have
  • Support any other special projects the HR director needs assistance with
  • Participate in the phone rotation and assist company customers and clients

  • Admin and coordinator experience
  • High School or GED equivalent required
  • Strong computer skills
  • Reliable, people person w ho enjoys working with a diverse range of individuals and puts employee requirements and needs first
  • Experience in construction industry is a plus
  • Experience in Human Resources is a plus but not required
