Responsibilities:
Drive and develop the on-site processes, coding/scanning staff and functions in Health Information Management related to coding to facilitate high quality, cost effective delivery of coding services to the client.
Learning is a daily part of your role with Precyse. Keep your coding knowledge base current with Precyse University, available to all coding colleagues. We will provide full ICD-10 training and ongoing courses with AHIMA and AAPC approved CEUs at no cost to our colleagues. This education is being used by some of the top health systems ! in the country. You will leverage Precyse University as a tool! for training staff including the ICD-10 education of the coding team.
Participate on all applicable committees and professional organizations and maintain personal and professional education and growth. Precyse will reimburse you for one credential due annually.
Interact with billing office, physicians, IT, and hospital personnel to resolve coding/billing issues and works and understands the DNFB/DNFC process.
Possess a solid grasp of the charge master, revenue codes, processing patient type changes, cancelled accounts, and working multiple edits.
Assess scanning/coding workflow processes and identifies innovative solutions.
Revise and updates coding policies and procedures in collaboration with HIM Director.
Maintain strict physician and patient confidentiality and follows state, federal and hospital guidelines for the release of information.
Support Precyse's Compliance Program by demonstrating adherence to a! ll relevant compliance policies and procedures as evidenced by in-service attendance and daily practice.
Requirements
RHIA or RHIT and Associates or Bachelors Degree.
CCS preferred but not required; candidate must be able to code both inpatient and outpatient records.
Minimum of three years' experience as a Director of Health Information Management or three years' experience as a Coding Manager â" Manager must be able to code and audit.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Possesses a strong grasp of MS-DRGs, APCs, and the transition to ICD-10.
Minimum of 5 years Health Information Management or Technology experience in CDI or case management in an acute care hospital setting (management role) preferred.
